The couple got engaged discreetly in Mexico last year on Darren Genet's birthday, according to The People Magazine. An insider told the magazine at the time: "Kat is deeply in love and couldn't be happier."
The now-former couple first started dating in 2017, keeping a low profile and posting about each other every now and then on their social media. Coincidentally, both Garret and Genet worked on the smash hit Vampire Diaries.
