Johnny Depp Postpones Hollywood Vampires US Tour Due To Ankle Sprain On Doctor's Advice
Johnny Depp and his band, the Hollywood Vampires, announced on Instagram on Monday that Johnny Depp suffered a "serious" ankle fracture.
Depp explained the reason for the bone in a post on his Instagram story.
"What started as a fine line, but somewhere between Cannes and the Royal Albert Hall, got worse, not better," Depp wrote. "Many doctors have told me to avoid it now. Unfortunately, I can't walk right now." The group postponed their work until next week.
The group wrote on Instagram that Depp was "surprised by this change, but looking forward to a hiatus so all four vampires can make the most of their European tour experience."
Concerts in Boston; Manchester, NH and Bethel, NY now on July 28, 29 and 30.
The band is about to start their European tour next month.
The news comes after Depp attended the 2023 Cannes Film Festival to promote his new movie "Jeanne Dubarry", his first film since winning the defamation lawsuit of his ex-wife Amber Heard.
At cannes, Depp attacked those who called the project a "return".
"I'm not going anywhere," he said at a press conference after the film's opening night screening earlier this month. "I've been here for about 45 minutes." Maybe then people will stop talking out of fear - but I'm not going anywhere. I was already sitting there. "Comeback" is almost like I'm going to tap dance - try my best and I hope you agree.
That's the concept. It's a mystery.
He also said that he doesn't feel "removed" from Hollywood, "because I don't think of Hollywood. I don't think Hollywood needs that anymore."
