Selena Gomez 'grateful' to blow out candles on 31st birthday

Happy birthday, Selena Gomez! The Disney alum celebrated with her friends with an 'S' shaped cake.

Selena Gomez celebrated her birthday with a cake and a post on Instagram! In a snap shared on Saturday, July 22, the newly minted 31-year-old beamed as she held an "S"-shaped cake decorated with gorgeous pink roses for her own debut. In the photo, Sel was blowing out candles as she sat on the bed and made a wish. In trend with the barbicore movement, the "Lose You to Love Me" songstress was in a pink T-shirt and hoop earrings, offset by bubble gum pink makeup. She also wore layered pearl necklaces.

She accompanied the photo to her 424 million followers with a long caption about her birthday, thanking her fans for their support. "I'm grateful for so much in my life," the Disney alum began, referring to her wildly successful makeup brand Rare Beauty. Through her company — which has gone viral for its liquid blush and liquid matte lipsticks — Selena has also created the Rare Impact Fund to support people struggling with mental health.

“The one thing I'm most grateful for is what we've been able to do with the Rare Impact Fund through @Rarebeauty. Because of you, we've been able to raise awareness and increase access to mental health services for young people," she later shared. Over the years, Selena has been a vocal advocate for mental health awareness — publicly sharing her own struggles and re-romance with her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, 29. 

“This is my true passion in life. People keep asking me what I want for my birthday, and the only thing I tell everyone is please don't get me anything but if you want to do something for my birthday, please donate to the Rare Impact Fund. If you have the means, consider donating to help us make a difference," she added, adding a link. "I love you all!" she signed off.
