Ethan Hawke Reflects on Virtual Sex Scene in 'Wildcat': 'We Really Were'

Maya was forced to film an intimate scene with her famous father overseeing the production as a director.

Father-daughter duo Ethan Hawke and Maya Hawke are busy working on the indie film Wildcat, which requires the actress to film sex scenes while her father oversees production.

"We're very comfortable with it. I don't care," the 25-year-old "Stranger Things" actress said.

"I think it's weird for them," Ethan laughed. Maya then joined her father, "We found an intimacy coordinator so they feel safe and comfortable and don't feel like they are being snooped on," Ethan finished his sentence with a joke, "By some creepy dad."

In one of the scenes in question, Maya portrays a woman with wooden legs having sex in the train room with the Bible salesman character Cooper. This is one of the few scenes starring a New York City resident.

"When we were shooting the film, I had moments of insecurity about it," says Maya. "But there are not many nuances on the Internet. My father has been a good teacher for me and we want to work together. We love each other," she said.

Once upon a time ... the Hollywood actress, daughter and son of Levon Hawke continued to behave while working with Ethan, who he shared with his ex-wife Uma Thurman. While working with her father, Maya initially calls him by his first name to avoid calling him "father".

"And then I realized that people were more into it," he said. "They said, 'Why are you doing this?' "It's great, so I often call him 'Dad.'"

Ethan admits the criticism he may receive from the public is due to nepotism.

"If someone wants to criticize us for working together, that's fair," he said. "People should be allowed to have their own opinions. You just have to try to do good when you're on stage. … Simply put, I'm not a relative! I'm not ashamed," he said.
